Suffragettes Demonstrating Chelmsford 1908

The scene on a Saturday in late November 1908, outside an inn, Chelmsford, Essex. The W.S.P.U organised a colourful demonstration ahead of the forthcoming by-election. Eleven ex-prisoners (some released from Holloway earlier that morning) stand alongside Mrs Flora Drummond. Banners and flags decorate the Electro bus that brought the demonstrators from London.
