Sydney in 1813

This view was taken from Grosvenor Street which is in the foreground. George Street crosses this at right angles in front of the white buildings with five windows on upper floor. The one opposite Grosvenor Street is the Orphan School and the other the residence of Mr. James Underwood On the right in the foreground is the house and garden of the Lieutenant Governor. Bridge Street runs up the hill on the other side, finishing at Government House. On the right below that are residences and offices of the Government Officers. The large building on the left of Bridge Street is the residence and storerooms of Mr. Simeon Lord, in Macquarie Place
