1st Pylon, Karnak Temple, Thebes, Luxor, Egypt
Royal Axis, with the dromos, an avenue of ram headed sphinxes of the god Amun, leading to the 1st Pylon, built by Nectanebo, 380-362 BC, uncompleted and undecorated, in the Precinct of Amun-Re, at the Karnak Temple Complex, Karnak, Thebes, Luxor, Egypt. The site was developed c. 2055 BC - 100 AD, from the Middle Kingdom to the Ptolemaic Kingdom and most of the buildings date to the New Kingdom, dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut and Khonsu.
