Ruins of the old abbey church, with pillar bases from the transept, excavated in 1959, at the Abbaye Saint Nicolas, founded 1021 by Foulques Nerra in Angers, Maine-et-Loire, France. King Rene d'Anjou was married in this church. It was built by Geoffroy Martel and consecrated by Foulques Nerra. The abbey was destroyed in the French Revolution.
