Abbotsford House, built 1817-25 by Sir Walter Scott, 1771-1832, Scottish writer and poet, near Melrose, in the Borders, Scotland. The building is in Scottish Baronial style and includes Scott's personal collections of books, furniture and Scottish historical artefacts, making it a centre for European Romanticism.
