Agrigento
Low angle view of columns, Temple of Hercules, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy, pictured on September 12, 2009, in the morning. The date of the Temple of Hercules is uncertain; although the style indicates late 6th century BC, its entablature is mid 5th century. It was built with a peristasis of 6 x 15 tall Doric columns with wide capitals, and a cella with pronaos and opysthodomus, above a three-step basement. 8 columns and an altar have survived the earthquake which destroyed the temple.
