Crenellated walls and corner tower of the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, Palma de Mallorca, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. The palace was originally an Arabian fortress or alcazar but was used by the Catalans as a royal residence from the 14th century. It is square in shape with an arcaded facade over looking the Mediterranean Sea. Its restoration was begun in 1963 and The King of Spain now uses it as an official residence for ceremonial occasions and as a museum. Picture by Manuel Cohen
