Altar, Neonian Baptistery, Ravenna, Italy
Altar with candles in an arcosolium in the Battistero Neoniano or Neonian Baptistery, an octagonal brick building on an original Roman bath, built late 4th century under bishop Ursus then late 5th century under bishop Neon, in Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Around the arcosolium are 5th century mosaics depicting a Latin inscription from Psalm 31 and apostles or prophets holding scrolls, and corinthian columns.
