Bachelors Mosque, Berat, Albania
Bachelors Mosque or Xhami e Beqareve, built in 1827, in Mangalem quarter, Berat, South-Central Albania, capital of the District of Berat and the County of Berat. The Bachelors were young unmarried shop assistants whom the merchants in Berat used as their own private militia.In July 2008, the old town (Mangalem district) was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
