Bastion du Dauphin, built by Vauban as part of the defensive walls of Villefranche-de-Conflent, a fortified town surrounded by 9th century ramparts built by the counts of Conflent and further fortified in the 17th century, in Conflent, Pyrenees-Orientales, France. The town is protected from above by Fort Liberia, built 1681-83 by Sebastien Le Prestre de Vauban and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
