Beach and houses in the town of Scilla, Reggio Calabria, Calabria, Italy. On the hilltop is the Ruffo Castle, or Castello Ruffo di Calabria. The promontory was originally fortified by the Etruscans, Greeks and Romans, then a 9th century monastery was built, which was fortified in 1060.
