Bedroom of Pierre Loti, simply furnished with iron bedstead, in the House of Marie Bon, 1831-1908, sister of Pierre Loti, born Louis Marie-Julien Viaud, 1850-1923, French writer and naval officer, at Saint-Porchaire, Saintonge, Charente-Maritime, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The house was home to the painter Marie Bon, her husband Armand Bon and their daughter Nadine Bon 1865-78, and Pierre Loti visited regularly. It now houses a museum. Picture by Manuel Cohen
