Bell tower, Etchmiadzin Cathedral, Vagharshapat, Armenia
Bell tower, built 17th century, which housed a bell with Tibetan buddhist inscription until the 1930s, at the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, originally built 301-303 AD by St Gregory the Illuminator and rebuilt from 483 by Vahan Mamikonian until 1868, mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church, at Vagharshapat or Etchmiadzin, Armavir, Armenia. The cathedral was the seat of the Catholicos and is part of the complex of the Monastery of Etchmiadzin. The site is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
