Big Ben, 1858, clock tower of Palace of Westminster or Houses of Parliament, London, UK, 1840-60, by Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin. The Gothic Perpendicular building replaced its predecessor, destroyed by fire, 1834. The 96.3 metre high clock tower is named after its largest bell, Big Ben.
