Birth of St Stephen, detail of woman washing hands with servants, a devil, a sleeping servant and a sleeping baby with devil's horns, 1495-1500, tempera and gold leaf on wood, by Vergos Group, in Gothic style, in the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. This is a detail from a panel on the altarpiece of Sant Esteve de Granollers. The MNAC holds 13 panels from this altarpiece, of which 9 were painted by the Vergos workshop, and 4, part of the dust-shield, are attributed to Joan Gasco, d. 1529.
