Bukhara

Chor Minor, or Four Minarets, is the gatehouse of a Madrasah built by Khalif Niyazkul, a rich merchant. The 17 metre high towers, capped with blue domes, are not true minarets as they have no galleries from which to call people to prayer. Bukhara, a city on the Silk Route is about 2500 years old.
