Castildetierra, Parque Natural de Bardenas Reales
Castildetierra, a cabezo or fairy chimney, aerial view, in the Parque Natural de Bardenas Reales, an arid region of semi-desert eroded landscape, in the Ebro valley depression, in Navarre, Northern Spain. The area covers 42, 000 hectares between Tudela and Carcastillo, featuring badlands created by the erosion of the clay, chalk and sandstone soils by occasional heavy rains and a strong wind called cierzo.
