Cattedrale metropolitana di Sant'Agata, originally built in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 18th centuries, in Catania, Sicily, Italy. The Baroque facade, 1711, is by Gian Battista Vaccarini and the dome dates to 1802. Catania was founded by the Greeks in the 8th century BC and was rebuilt in the 12th century after an earthquake, then again after an earthquake in 1693. Much of the Old Town features late Baroque architecture and the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
