Ceiling frescoes by Delacroix, Library of the

Ceiling of the Bibliotheque de l'Assemblee Nationale, or Library of the National Assembly, created in 1796 and housed in the Assemblee Nationale at the Palais Bourbon, 2nd arrondissement, Paris, France. The 42m long library houses over 60, 000 works and was decorated 1838-47 with a series of paintings by Romantic artist Eugene Delacroix, 1798-1863, who painted 5 cupolas and 2 hemicycles with allegories of philosophy, natural history, legislation, eloquence, literature, poetry and theology.
