Uranus muse of astronomy and Erato muse of Music, ceiling fresco, trompe l'oeil allegorical scene, 1869, by Pierre-Victor Galland, 1822-92, in the Salle des Actes or Grand Salon, in the Chateau de Valrose, built 1867-70 in Neo Gothic style for Russian baron Paul von Derwies, designed by David Grimm, Mikhail Makaroff, Antoine Beranger and Sebastien-Marcel Biasini, in Valrose, Nice, Provence, France. The chateau, set in a 10 hectare estate, is used by the University of Nice-Sophia-Antipolis. It is listed as a historic monument and is part of the Nice UNESCO World Heritage Site.
