Ceiling, Upper chamber, Mausoleum of Theodoric, Ravenna
Ceiling of the circular upper chamber, with cross decoration added later, in the Mausoleo di Teodorico or Mausoleum of Theodoric, an Ostrogothic funerary building, built c. 520 AD by king Theodoric, in the necropolis area outside the city walls of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. According to legend, the crack seen here was caused by a lightning strike while Theodoric took shelter in the mausoleum. The building is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
