Cemetery, Fyrkat ring fortress, Hobro, Jutland, Denmark
Viking burial ground containing 30 graves, just outside Fyrkat ring fortress, built 980 under king Harald Bluetooth, part of the Viking Center Fyrkat, near Hobro, Jutland, Denmark. The site consists of a circular earthen rampart and stones marking the site of the 16 original longhouses. Originally the rampart would have been lined with timber and surrounded by a moat, and plank roads leading to 4 gates divided it into 4 sections. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
