Chac Mool, a reclining polychrome sculpture and offering vessel with attributes of Tlaloc the rain god, at the Shrine of Tlaloc, built in Stage 2, c. 1400, excavations at the Templo Mayor, Mexico City, Mexico. The Main Temple was a stepped pyramid temple topped with 2 shrines dedicated to Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc, on the Recinto Sagrado or ceremonial area of Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec Mexica people. It was rebuilt 7 times until it was destroyed by Hernan Cortes in 1521. Its remains have been excavated since 1978 and it is part of the Mexico City UNESCO World Heritage Site.
