Chateau Frontenac and Petit Champlain, Quebec

Chateau Frontenac, opened 1893, designed by Bruce Price as a chateau style hotel for the Canadian Pacific Railway company or CPR, with the Saint Lawrence river and Petit Champlain below, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. On the right is the Louiss St-Laurent Building, built 1872-73 in Second Empire style, the Old Post Office. The Chateau Frontenac was extended and the central tower added in 1924, by William Sutherland Maxwell. It is now a hotel, the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, and is listed as a National Historic Site of Canada. The Historic District of Old Quebec is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
