Equestrian statue of D'Artagnan, bronze, inaugurated 2015, by Daphne du Barry, in the Place d'Artagnan, the town square of Lupiac, in Gers, Occitania, France. D'Artagnan, from The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, was based on a real person, Charles de Batz-Castelmore, comte d'Artagnan, 1611-73, from this town. Behind is the mairie or town hall, housed in the Chateau de Lamotte d'Izault. The statue marks the end of the European Route d'Artagnan, from Maastricht to Lupiac. Picture by Manuel Cohen
