Underground cistern of filtered fresh water from the Guadiana river, in the Alcazaba of Merida, a Moorish fortification built by emir Abd ar-Rahman II of Cordoba in 835, in Merida, Extremadura, Spain. The stone cistern was built reusing stone fragments of Roman and Visigothic buildings from the area, including columns with sculpted decoration.
