Miraculous crucifix, Renaissance sculpture by Donatello, 1386-1466, in the Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Servi, built 1372-90, in Padua, Veneto, Italy. Legend says that the crucifix miraculously bled for 15 days in 1512. The 2m tall polychrome sculpture in poplar wood was painted in bronze at a later date, and restored to its original state in 2015.
