Demotic script cut into the wall at the Speos of Horemheb, a rock-cut temple dedicated to 7 gods, built in a former quarry during the reign of Horemheb, 1323-1295 BC, 18th Dynasty, New Kingdom, with 5 openings cut into the cliff, on the west bank of the river Nile at Gebel el-Silsila, an area of sandstone quarries used since the Middle Kingdom, 2034-1650 BC, in Aswan Governorate, Egypt. The site contains over 100 quarries, the Speos of Horemheb temple built 1323-1295 BC, 32 rock-cut chapels c. 1479-1425 BC and other stelae and monuments. Picture by Manuel Cohen
