Right of the dome is Giotto's campanile, a freestanding bell tower in Florentine Gothic style designed by Giotto di Bondone, c1267-1337, on the Piazza del Duomo next to the Duomo. The historic centre of Florence is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
