Entombment sculpture, with (left-right) Nicodemus, Virgin, St John, Mary Magdalene, Joseph of Arimathea, late 15th century, originally from the Cordeliers de Chalon Convent, transfered here during the French Revolution, in the Basilique Notre-Dame de l'Epine, or Basilica of Our Lady of the Thorn, L'Epine, Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, France. The church was built 1405-1527 in Flamboyant Gothic style, is listed as a historic monument and as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage site.
