Entombment sculpture, Collegiale Notre-Dame de
Polychrome sculpture of the Entombment, 16th century, Christ's body is surrounded by the Virgin with St John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene, the holy women, Nicodemus at the foot of the tomb, and Joseph of Arimathea, who donated his tomb to Jesus after his death, the Collegiale Notre-Dame de Poissy, a catholic parish church founded c. 1016 by Robert the Pious and rebuilt 1130-60 in late Romanesque and early Gothic styles, in Poissy, Yvelines, France.
