Father Giancarlo Corsini of the Franciscan Friars Minor, in the library, opened 1944 and raised since the great floods of 1966 to protect the rare books, at the Basilica di Santa Croce, the largest Franciscan church in the world, founded by St Francis of Assisi, begun 1294, consecrated 1443, and remodelled in the 16th century by Giorgio Vasari, October 2023, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The collection contains books on theology, Franciscan spirituality, social and human sciences and art, and also an archive of documents 14th - 20th century.
