The Loggia del Grano, commissioned by Cosimo II, was a grain store on the upper floors and a market at ground level until 1690, but has since had many other uses including newspaper headquarters, theatre, cinema, and shops. It was restored in 1953 by architects Nello Baroni and Maurizio Tempestini. Florence, capital of Tuscany, is world famous for its Renaissance art and architecture.
