Octagonal marble baptismal font with pulpit, in the Battistero Neoniano or Neonian Baptistery, an octagonal brick building on an original Roman bath, built late 4th century under bishop Ursus then late 5th century under bishop Neon, in Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The 5th century mosaics seen here depict temples, altars and thrones (top), with stucco shrines to prophets between the windows, and in the arcosolia, an altar and Roman vase repurposed as a font.
