Forum model, Praetorium Tower, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain
Model of the provincial forum of Tarraco, begun 73 AD under emperor Vespasian, covering 18 hectares of the city, used as its religious, social and administrative centre, in the Torre del Pretorio Romana, the Praetorium or Pretorius Tower, connecting the Forum to the Roman Circus, in Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain. The forum entered around 2 porticoed squares in the lower city. Tarraco was an important fortified Roman colony and its remains are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
