Jesus before Pontius Pilate, with soldiers, by Giovanni Canavesio, 1450-1500, detail from the fresco cycle of the Passion of Christ and Last Judgement, 15th century, by Giovanni Canavesio and Giovanni Baleison, in the Chapelle Notre-Dame-des-Fontaines or Shrine of Our Lady of the Fountains, near La Brigue, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. In this scene Pilate's wife resembles Marguerite Lascaris, Lady of Tende.
