Virgin and child with angels, fresco, detail, in the dome of the parecclesion or mortuary side chapel, in the Kariye Kilisesi or Chora Church, a Byzantine church in Edirne Kapi, Istanbul, Turkey. The church was first built 5th century AD, was converted to a mosque in 1511, became a museum in 1948, then again a mosque in 2020. It is part of the Istanbul Old Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.
