Christ in Majesty, fresco transferred to canvas, late 12th century, Romanesque, from the apse of the parish church of Sant Pau in Esterri de Cardos, Pallars Sobira, in the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, in the Palau Nacional on Montjuic Hill, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Christ is in a mandorla, wearing a cruciferous halo and dressed in a tunic and cloak decorated with precious stones. He makes a gesture of blessing and holds a closed book.
