Anastasis, with Christ destroying the gates of hell, with Adam and Eve and St John the Baptist, fresco, 12th century, in the Panagia tou Araka, a late 12th century Byzantine katholikon monastery church, near Lagoudera, in the Troodos mountains, Cyprus. The frescoes were commissioned by Leo Authentes and painted by a monk named Theodoros Apsevdis, completed 1192 and restored in the 14th century. The church is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
