East wall of the tomb of Khnumhotep II, Overseer of the Eastern Desert under pharaohs Amenemhat II and Senusret II, 12th dynasty, Middle Kingdom, at the necropolis of Beni Hasan, Egypt. In the centre is the shrine entrance, and the frescoes, c. 1900 BC, depict Khnumhotep II throwing a stick while fowling in the marshes, above a frieze of fishermen (left) and harpooning 2 fish, above a frieze of fighting boatmen (right).
