Christ as the Ancient of Days, meaning Eternal God, depicted as an old man with white hair and beard, making blessing and holding bible, fresco, on the ceiling of Yilanli Church, or Yilanli Kilise, known as Snake Church, a rock-cut monastery complex, Byzantine, in the Soganli valley, Yesilhisar, Kayseri, Cappadocia, Central Anatolia, Turkey. On the right are Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in a paradise flower garden holding souls, added later in the 15th century. On the left is Heaven with the Virgin flanked by angels and Dismas the penitent thief. The monastery includes a church with 2 naves and 2 apses, a courtyard, refectories and a kitchen.
