Frieze, Guard Room, Chateau de Fontainebleau
Frieze with armour, weapons, satyr heads and a frit garland at the top of the walls of the Guard Room, attributed to Ruggerio de Ruggieri, c. 1570, rearanged in Louis XIII's day, Chateau de Fontainebleau, France. The Palace of Fontainebleau is one of the largest French royal palaces and was begun in the early 16th century for Francois I. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.
