Funerary monument with Hebrew obituary inscription for a man and his wife, marble, 1321, in the Palais-Musee des Archeveques de Narbonne, in the Archbishop's Palace, built 12th - 14th century, in Narbonne, Aude, Occitania, France. Jews from Baghdad were invited to settle in Narbonne by Pepin the Short in the 8th century, and a Jewish centre of learning was established in the city. Picture by Manuel Cohen
