Hnefatafl, a popular board game played on a wooden board marked with squares and pieces made from bone, wood or animal teeth, with the king piece in the centre, in the reconstructed longhouse built 1993, at Viking Center Fyrkat, 1km from Fyrkat ring fortress, built 980 under king Harald Bluetooth, near Hobro, Jutland, Denmark. The Viking Center contains a reconstructed longhouse, farmhouse, smithy, barn and other buildings. The fort is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
