The Generalife, summer palace and country estate and gardens of the Nasrid kings, built in the 14th century under Muhammad III, 1302an1309 and redecorated by Abu I-Walid Isma'il, 1313-1324, Alhambra Palace, Granada, Andalusia, Southern Spain. The Alhambra was begun in the 11th century as a castle, and in the 13th and 14th centuries served as the royal palace of the Nasrid sultans.
