Giambologna relief, Loggia della Signoria, Florence
Rape of the Sabines, by Giambologna, Mannerist relief on the external facade of the Loggia della Signoria, or Loggia dei Lanzi, built 1376-82 by Benci di Cione and Simone di Francesco Talenti to hold public ceremonies, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy. The loggia is a building adjacent to the Uffizi Gallery on the Piazza della Signoria, with a wide arcade with sculptures between the columns.
