Mirrors and gold stucco work in the Galleria Dorata, or Gilded Gallery, decorated in Neo-Baroque style by Lorenzo de Ferrari in the 18th century, when the palace was owned by the Carrega family, in the Palazzo Tobia Pallavicino, or Palazzo Carrega Cataldi, built 1558-61 in Mannerist style, designed by Giovan Battista Castello, known as il Bergamasco, at 4 Via Garibaldi, in the Le Strade Nuove in Genoa, Liguria, Italy. The building now houses the Chamber of Commerce. The Strade Nuove or New Streets area, housing many palaces or Palazzi dei Rolli, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Picture by Manuel Cohen
