Hilltop village of Gordes in Apt, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France, seen while on a hike following the trail of the maquisards or WWII resistance fighters, as part of the Sentiers de Memoire project. The village is situated in Les Monts de Vaucluse in the Luberon valley. It was a centre of resistance during WWII with many maquisards based here. Picture by Manuel Cohen
