Grave goods, Vasteras Konstmuseum, Vasteras, Sweden
Wooden dish, spatula and mug, found inside a boat, in which a body was placed, from an Iron Age grave at Tuna, Badelunda parish, near Vasteras, in the Vasteras Konstmuseum, a museum of Swedish art, founded 1972, in Vasteras, Vastmanland, Sweden. Of the 8 graves at the site, only this 1 boat remains, preserved by the clay earth. It is a 7m long expanded log boat, made from a hollowed pine tree, with plank sides fixed with roots or other plant materials, and 5 ribs of juniper wood. Picture by Manuel Cohen
