Model of the great hall or sal, residence of the king and his family, with state rooms for politics, religion and cult feasts, market hall and justice hall, in Gamla Uppsala Museum, inaugurated 2000, at Gamla Uppsala, near Uppsala, Sweden. Gamla Uppsala was the historical residence of Swedish kings and an important religious and political centre from the 3rd century AD through the Middle Ages.
